Very good experience there. Beautifully kept and newly decorated accommodation with peaceful setting very close to a sprawling forest, France and the restaurant.

The guestroom at Auberge à la Tête de Lard was cozy and had a homey feel. I loved the free WiFi, it kept me connected throughout my stay. As a tech-savvy traveler, this amenity was a big plus for me.

But, honestly, I didn't really care for the wallpaper in the room. It was a bit outdated and clashed with the overall charm of the place.

It has peaceful and absolutely perfect position in the forest. The restaurant serves freshly cooked regional food. Every time in La Ferte-Imbault, I choose this place.

As a budget traveler, I was delighted with the friendly and helpful staff at Auberge A La Tete De Lard. The cozy room in this authentic auberge provided a comfortable stay. The location, perfect for overnight travel between France and The Netherlands, was superb. Also, the breakfast at the auberge was very good indeed.

A typical Logis hotel in appearance and hospitality. Some information regarding the "empty" or "private" nearby Chateau would be of interest as it is a handsome looking building.

The evening meal was excellent as were the staff, although an alternative table d'hote menu at a cost lower than the 34 euros menu should be available. In view of the high standard set for dinner, the petit dejouner was disappointing.

A pleasant small hotel in an attractive village, not far from the a71 motorway, but with no traffic noise and easy to find. Friendly helpful staff, some of whom speak English. Well-run and clean. Good for an overnight stop (but see below), and has free under-cover parking.

Not a criticism, but a warning. The restaurant is a major part of the hotel, and is not cheap - but it is good. Meals can be taken on a shady patio in fine weather. When we stayed, there was nowhere else in the village to eat, as the only other restaurant had closed down.

The queen room didn't seem appealing on photos but it was spotless with view of the château. The stuff was reasonably good all that time.
